How much does it cost?
A lot of hard work, discipline, determination, and drive to break free from the life that you are currently living. There is no financial cost to the person enrolling. The program cost is covered by donations of friends of the ministry and families who believe in what God is doing in the program.
Each person coming is required to deposit with us enough money to be used for transportation when he/she leaves the program.
How long is the program?
The person makes a one year commitment to be involved in healing, work therapy, education, Bible studies, learning how to spend time with God, co-dependency classes and how to live without being addicted. Sometimes women in the program stay for 18 months.
How many women are in the program at one time?
This varies, we have had as few as one and ask may as eight.
What type of accountability does the program offer?
The work therapy, education, and living life is always with another person, or group of people.
Is Lydia’s House (where I would live) and the farm on the same property?
No, the farm is five miles away. We go there daily to care for the horses, chickens and other animals. Help with the gardening and cleaning the family center.
Is there an exit plan at graduation?
Yes, we help you with what next steps and you may ask to extend your stay after graduation to work on your plan for the future.
Can I smoke?
If you are addicted to smoking, we require that you break that addiction before coming to work on other issues. No smoking is allowed.
What is the first step I need to take to apply?
Desire change and call us at 863-773-0877 for a phone interview with the program director.
What happens next?
Once we do the phone interview with you and answer any questions you have we will begin the application process for you to enter the one year education/healing/work therapy program.
Can my boyfriend come and visit?
Due to the fact that for the next year, you will be focusing on healing there are no paramour relationships allowed.
When can my family come and visit?
For 30 days there is no contact with family or friends. After 3 months, approved family members can receive phone calls from you and the family begins participating in the family classes and family day on the third Sunday of each month.
Do I need to go to detox before come?
That is a decision you can make, you do not have to. We have not had any graduate ever have detox issues.
Can I still take my medications (psychotic drugs)?
No, you will need a note from your doctor that you may go off the drugs.
My family will not participate, can I still come?
Because addiction affects the entire family, the person coming would need to wait until their family is willing to participate in Family Day and Education on the Third Sunday of each month.
My daughter is in need of this program, can I make the application?
No, the daughter has to call us at 863-773-0877. It is critical for everyone that the person desires change.
What can I do as a parent to help?
Read about co-dependency and boundaries and how to allow the consequences of the child’s actions be the responsibility of the child. The best thing you can do is pray and not rescue, enable or continue to help the person live a destructive life style.
Do I have to be a Christian to enroll?
No, but you have to be willing to want to have a relationship with Jesus Christ through reading the Bible, prayer, journaling, and allowing God to work in your life. Lydia’s House is a Christ based ministry and we believe that He can heal the hurts in your life so you no longer need to use drugs or alcohol to cover the pain.
Can I wear make-up?
Our desire for you is that you focus on healing, so we do not allow women to wear make-up.
